Dr Buchoff's Raw Diet for your Cats, Dogs and Ferrets

(Beef, Poultry, Lamb, or Fish)

What is "raw diet?"

  • Simply, it's raw meat and organ meats (naturally raised) with vegetables and fruit. It is the food that our carnivore animal companions are meant to eat.
  • Cooking food (i.e., heating over 105 degrees Fahrenheit) destroys the "food enzymes" that are necessary for complete digestion and alters some of the nutrients.
  • No bones (which are poorly digestible, often cause gastrointestinal irritation, and contain heavy metal toxins)
  • No grains (an inappropriate ingredient that is the mainstay of commercial canned and dry pet foods)
  • No pre-added vitamin/mineral supplements (which can oxidize during processing and the thawing procedures).

Why feed raw diet?

  • Raw natural diet is by far much more nutritious and digestible and does not have the dangerous chemical additives of commercial diets.
  • It has been estimated that at least 90% of diseases are diet related. Cooked commercial diets literally starve our pets' cells of the nutrients that they need for proper function and daily healing processes. Good nutrition may be the best medicine you can give to your pets. Miraculous things can happen when a pet starts eating what its body really wants.

How to feed Dr. Buchoff's raw diet:

  • Defrost for 24 hours in the refrigerator. After waiting for the food to warm up to room temperature for the last ¼ to ½ hour, add the supplements and mix in thoroughly. Then place the food down...and stand back while your pet enjoys!

Supplements to add:

  • A whole food vitamin-mineral-phytonutrient supplement such as Flying Basset Daily Maintenance Nutritional Complex®*
  • Flying Basset Animal Aloe®* (Warning: NOT for pregnant animals)
  • Flying Basset ProAnimal Probiotic®*
  • Flying Basset Digestive Enzyme Complex®*

How much to feed:

  • Feed all that he/she will eat in 10 minutes, once or twice a day.
  • After a few months your pet will likely eat ½ to ¼ of amount that he/she started at because the cells will have been filled up with the nutrients they need.
  • When feeding raw diet for the first time, wean him/her onto it over a 1 or 2 week period to allow the digestive tract to adjust.

*You can purchase these supplements from our office during office hours, and may be supplied in one convenient packet supplied with the food.
